Give.
It takes both time and money to make a significant difference in a community. For more than 56 years, the United Way of Deschutes County has been the leader in raising both individual and corporate contributions that are, in turn, used to make a difference in people's lives. Now, during this perfect storm of an economy, more people are seeking help for the first time and fewer have the resources to respond. We ask for your help more ardently than ever because each gesture of giving provides a whisper of hope for our family, friend, neighbor or co-worker seeking our support.
Give $5. Add $5. Tell 5. A small way to have a big impact in the community. A $5 weekly gift--the cost of a mocha latte, a foot-long sub or a movie rental--equals a total contribution of $260 per year. That amount
will feed 100 hungry people 3 warm, nutritious meals a day for 3 days
If you are already giving, we ask you to consider giving $5 more. An even more powerful gift is to share this message with 5 people you know and encourage them to do the same. Together we can accomplish so much.
Whether you choose payroll deduction, make a weekly contribution or send in a check once a year, giving is a personal choice. Only you can make the decision about what level of giving fits your circumstances. Whatever you give, remember that it’s an investment in the future of the community in which you live. It’s an investment in your own future.
